I took my first art lessons in Dominican Republic in a small school called "Bella Artes" town of La Vega, but spent most of my childhood in New York. From an early age I developed an interest for the visual arts. I am inspired by organic shapes, natural colors, and the relationship between sitter and nature. I paint large scale portraits of family members and very close friends. Within each portrait, I will also paint flowers, plants and fruits, or a combination of organic elements, sometimes naturally; for example, in still-life elements, and sometimes decoratively, for example; on a piece of fabric, in a dress, or on wallpaper. “Man and nature” is the underlying theme of my work, which you will see in my portfolio. In three-quarter length view, I propose continuing to portray people I know and love, as well as my love of nature.
